13 accused in Pench tiger poaching cases get bail

India:Judicial Magistrate First Class, Ramtek, M S Banchare on Friday granted bail to 13 accused in Pench tiger poaching cases. The bail procedure in case of remaining three accused could not be completed today.A team of forestmen had arrested in all 17 accused in the tiger poaching/collecting body part cases in Pench. Of them, one accused, Mahadeo Chaitram Uikey, a resident of Dhawlapur, had fled away from the forest custody at Sillari on the intervening night of August 18-19. Later, his body was found 2 km away from Dhawlapur on August 26.

All the remaining 16 accused facing MCR in Nagpur Central Jail were brought to Ramtek and produced before the JMFC. After hearing the case, the court granted bail to 13 accused. The bail application of three accused - Bhojraj Jivlya Dhurve, Roshan Fulchand Netam, both residents of Dhawlapur, and Kunal Radheshyam Kumbhalkar, a resident of Kolitmara, could not be submitted in absence of their advocate. Adv Anand Gajbhiye, Adv M A Gupta and Adv N P Bagde pleaded for the remaining accused.

It is reported that the release of all the 13 accused would be done on Monday in view holidays on Saturday on account of Eid and Sunday.Meanwhile, a number of villagers gathered in the premises of Ramtek court today when forestmen were producing the accused. Prominent among those who were present included: Shanta Kumre, Uday alias Gajju Yadav, Suresh Kumre, Harish Uikey, Ranveer Yadav and others.
