India: The Mumbai Mangrove Conservation Unit(MMCU) of the forest department on Thursday recovered dried seahorsesfrom a man at the Mumbai International Airport.
Acting on a tip-off, one person was arrested with 30 kgs of dried seahorses (endangered wildlife species).
The dried seahorses were being smuggled to Malaysia. The accused has been sentenced to seven days' forest custody.
In February, endangered wildlife species like seahorses and dried pipefish were seized during a raid at a godown in Chennai.
Seahorse is used for traditional Chinese medicine.
