Three held with skin, bones of leopard

India: According to WCCB Jabalpur, during a special campaign against poaching and illegal trade of wildlife under the direction of In-charge officer of STF (Wildlife), Madhya Pradesh and Abhijit Roy Choudhary, Regional Deputy Director, WCCB Jabalpur, they received a tip-off that some persons were trying to sell leopard’s skin and bones. Taking prompt action on information, a combined team of WCCB Jabalpur, STF Jabalpur and Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, Chhattisgarh started investigation and fielded a buyer for the leopard’s skin.

 The poachers were trapped with leopard’s skin and bones and confessed to poaching of leopard through electrocution in forest area. Poachers were arrested with active working of team comprised of STF (Wildlife), Madhya Pradesh, WCCB Jabalpur’s Kaushik Mandal, Wildlife Inspectors, Rajiv Dixit, Vipin Chaturvedi, Durgesh Patel and Achanakmar Tiger Reserve, Chhattisgarh’s Forest Ranger, Sandeep Singh.
