India: Two Nepali nationals among four poachers having international link have been arrested with dead animal parts, including a fresh skin of recently killed leopard, in the Dooars of north Bengal, Baikantapur forest ranger Sanjay Dutta said today.
The forest guards laid several traps at Belacoba and Salughara in the Siliguri region and arrested two Nepali nationals - Kumar Rai (25) and Rudra Prasad Gelal (40), Chandradeb Sonkar (45) an UP resident and 75--year-old Kumar Rai of Alipurduar during raids since Sunday.
The seizure included hair of black beer, horns of rhino, elephant tusks and an 8 ft long skin of leopard.
Mr Dutta said the leopard was killed recently by a gun shut a hole was found in the stomach area of the animal.
All four arrested poachers have been taken to a local court for judicial production for further remand.
