India: Two people were arrested by the forest department on Saturday night for poaching two peafowls at Sirumugai forest range.
Forest department field staff from Sirumugai forest range were on rounds at Pethikuttai area on Saturday night and noticed two persons who were returning from a patta land in a moped with a country made gun.
Seeing the forest department staff, the duo tried to escape but the officials managed to detain them.
The two were identified as A Ravi and N Vellingiri from Sirumugai. The officials have seized two dead peafowls, a moped, bullets for the country made gun from them
