20 red sanders smugglers held
India: Police and forest staff in a joint operation arrested 20 red sanders smugglers belonging to Tamil Nadu and seized 23 logs from them in Railway Kodur forest area in the district on Wednesday.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted a raid at Revuladinne of Desettipalli forest beat in Railway Kodur mandal.
After seeing the team, some smugglers fled into the forest while 20 of them were nabbed.
The team seized 23 logs worth `7 lakh from them. Police are on the lookout for the escaped smugglers.
