Kapada, India: Andhra Pradesh Police arrested four smugglers and seized 158 red sandalwood logs They also seized a mini lorry, a tractor, and a two-wheeler. Acting on credible information, police conducted surprise checks on the Prodduturu-Yerraguntla road near Potladurthi village in Kadapa district. They intercepted a mini lorry loaded with red sandalwood logs ready for transport.
"We have so far arrested 4 people. We have also identified the mastermind and other organisers of this crime. We will arrest them also very soon," said SP Siddharth Kaushal. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing. The probe agency initiated an investigation based on a complaint filed against the accused by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for smuggling red sanders by submitting forged documents of companies situated at Special Economic Zones.
