India: Police seized around 400kg of red sanders from a house in Mannadi during a raid and arrested a man who was concealing the goods on Friday.

The raid was conducted after a tip about red sanders being kept in a house on Krishnan Kovil Street. The police team arrested Nawab Ali and have launched a search for his accomplice identified as Rafiq.

Investigations revealed that Nawab was concealing the goods which was meant for export. He confessed to have smuggled the red sanders from Andhra Pradesh. Police have handed over the goods to the forest department. Sources said an inquiry is on to find out the consigner and the consignee.
