Nepal: Four persons were arrested in possession of as many as nine red panda hides from Kapan of Kathmandu on Wednesday.
Sushil Rai (23) of Balamta-8 of Udayapur, Jeevan Gurung (24) of Dubekol VDC-8 in Khotang, Muskan Thapa (24) of Bhimgidi VDC-1 in Baglung, and Lal Bahadur Thing (32) of Sarikhet Palase VDC-5 of Makawanpur were arrested from Gurung’s rented room in Kapan, Budhanilakantha-14.
A special police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division also seized five red panda hides worth around Rs 550,000 each from the site.
Further legal action will be taken by the District Forests Office, Hattisar, police said.
