India: The Central Investigation Department received an information which pointed out that Ding Muyang, who was arrested for killing two rhinos in Gorumara, is an active member of a banned terrorist organization called the ‘Revolutionary Army’.
The CID has initiated an investigation to collect clues that can lead them to the inter-state poachers. The CID is also trying to find out the routes used by the hunters for poaching and escaping from the area.
The police had taken Muyang under 14 days of remand for interrogation. Muyang confessed that the gang of five hunters had reached the Gorumara National Park by a vehicle from Birpara, Alipurduar. The hunters had come from Manipur.
Four of the gang’s members had died during a road accident in Kamrup, Assam; but Muyang had survived. On March 14, he was trying to return to Manipur after completing his mission, but his vehicle crashed. The Assam Police had arrested him with the rhino horns in his possession.
