Nepal: Acting on a tip off, Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Chitra Bahadur Karki (36), a permanent resident of Bahundangi-8, Jhapa, and seized one common leopard hide with him from Naxal, Kathmandu on 21 May, 2015, Thursday. The arrestee was planning to sell the leopard skin-Length: 5ft 2 inch, width: 1ft 10 inch- to a trader. CIB handed over him to district forest office of Kathmandu for further investigation. The National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973 and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) 1975, have prohibited the illegal trade of protected and enlisted wildlife species and their parts.
