Nepal: Nepal Police have arrested eight men, including six Indian citizens, on the charge of hunting and smuggling skins and other body parts of Royal Bengal Tiger from far-western region of Nepal.
Preliminary investigations of the police have revealed that the arrested were active in tiger hunting since long. The police seized two tiger skins and 39.5 kgs of tiger bones from them as they were trying to smuggle the contraband.

"It's the first time that the police arrested a big group of tiger poachers in a single haul," Deputy Inspector General Madhav Nepal said.
Tipped off by a special source, the police squad led by Sub-Inspector Birendra Singh Johari seized the tiger body parts from the poachers on Wednesday Morning from Pahalwanpur-1 of Kailali District.
The arrested two Nepali nationals have been identified as Dukharam Chaudhary, 35, and Aganu Chaudhary, 48, of Kailali. Similarly, the six Indian citizens are Jagadish Chandra Babariya, 40, of Hariyana, Rampal Babariya, 32, Ramu Babariya, 40, Sharwan Babariya, 31, of Ludhiyana, Punjab, Kamala Babariya, 40 and Anarkali Babariya, 28, of Chamkorshahi, Punjab.
The group has confessed to killing two Royal Bengal Tigers by trapping them in Bardiya National Parks about a month ago. Sub-Inspector Johari said that the group has so far killed six tigers in Nepal.
The arrested Indian citizens belong to a community of traditional hunters. "They organize a meeting every year and deploy different members for hunting tigers in Nepal and India," the police officials said. They use homemade weapons, poison and traps to kill animals, according to the police.
The group members have told the police that they sell a whole set of tiger body parts, including the hides, for Rs 300,000. They also said that Chinese and Vietnamese buyers pay up to Rs 50,00,000 for the same.
