BENGALURU-India: Chennammanakere Achukattu police arrested a man and seized two elephant tusks from him. “On receiving a tip-off about a person trying to sell two elephant tusks, the police disguised as buyers approached Kumar and on verifying the tusks, seized the tusks and arrested him,” said a senior police officer. Kumar is a resident of Tamil Nadu and claims that he got the tusk from another person who wanted him to sell it. Police are now trying to trace him. Kumar has been booked under the Wildlife Act and under Section 379 of IPC (Punishment for Theft). (Source : The Hindu)
