The SAWEN Secretariat organized the First and Second Executive Committee (EC) Meeting coinciding with the Third Annual Meeting of SAWEN held on last week of October 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The First EC meeting was held on 25 October 2016 in presence of SAWEN focal persons from six member countries except Afghanistan and Pakistan; officials from the SAWEN Secretariat and Bangladesh Forest Department. The meeting discussed various issues and agreed to move forward in recruiting the Secretary General atthe SAWEN Secretariat and explore the scenarios of membership fee.

The Second EC meeting was conducted after the completion of the Third Annual Meeting which discussed on wider prospects that were highlighted during the meeting. The meeting directed the SAWEN Secretariat for follow up in expediting the process of SAWEN Statute endorsement for three remaining member countries. The meeting also directed the SAWEN Secretariat to prepare for the first General Assembly and next EC meeting.
