Sri Lanka: A suspect running an illegal aqua-life sales centre at Kottegoda, Matara was arrested with aqua-life particles by officers of the Hambantota Wildlife Office in a joint raid conducted with officers of the Pattiyapola Special Task Force Camp following a tip-off recently.
Wildlife Range Officer J.A.P. Wijayakumra said the 60-year-old suspect was a resident of Kottegoda, Matara.
He is a suspect on bail over a previous case involving a similar offence. Tourists visiting the area were among his clientele. Among the particles seized were shark fins, over 50 oysters and particles of coral reef. He was produced before the Matara Magistrate on September 7.
