India: Forest department officials today arrested nine smugglers and seized hide and other body parts of a leopard from Jalpaiguri district. 
Forest officials said the poachers had killed the leopard in Kokrajhar of Assam.

Acting on a tip off, the officials posed as buyers and caught the nine smugglers at Barobisha area in the Dooars region of the district. 

The arrested persons had links with an international smuggling racket, the officials said.
