Bangladesh: Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested a member of an international syndicate of hide smugglers along with 14 hides of deer, one tiger hide and Tk 2 lakh fake currency notes at Ikri Bazar in Bhandaria of Pirojpur early Friday. The arrested was identified as Babul Matubbar, 50, of the village, United News of Bangladesh reports. The elite force sources said a team of RAB-8 in the guise of buyers went to Ikri Bazar and caught Babul red-handed as he showed them the deer and tiger skins for sale around 6:00am. The RAB men also seized fake Tk 2 lakh notes of Tk 1,000 denomination each from his possession. Babul had long been involved in selling hides after collecting those from the Sundarbans, RAB sources said. (Source : New Age)
