Nepal: Police recently arrested a man in possession of live protected animals and birds.
The suspect has been identified as Mohammad Usman (35) of Patna, India and currently residing at Samakhusi, KMC-29.
Acting on a tip-off that Usman was involved in illegal trading of tortoises and various species of birds, a police team deployed from the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police nabbed him.
Police said that they have confiscated 109 live tortoises and 162 lovebirds (small parrots) from his possession.
Earlier, Usman was arrested with various species of birds on July 14, 2014 also.
Police said that he has been sent to the District Forest Office, Kathmandu for investigation.
