India: The forest department has arrested one of the accused in the case of a leopard cub being beaten to death with sticks in Bazpur during April. The Belpadav forest ranger S Pant informed that acting on a tip off from an informers, the Belpadav forest range staff arrested one of the accused named in tthe case, Joginder Singh from the Dabka river area.
He is one of those accused of thrashing a leopard cub to death at Itavva village on April 27. The forest department officer further informed that Singh had confessed to his crime.
He had also provided information about the other persons accused of involvement in this gruesome crime.
The forest department team also conducted search for the other accused persons but they managed to give the staff the slip.
The forest department staff presented Singh in the court of the Bazpur judicial magistrate from where the accused was sent on 14 days judicial custody to Haldwani jail.
