More than 150 have been arrested throughout the United Stated for online wildlife trafficking, announced the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services on Thursday. The arrests were part of an undercover investigation called 'Operation Wild Web' that included officers from 16 states, three federal agencies and three Asian countries. Operation Wild Web resulted in 154 “buy/busts” in the United States: 30 involving Federal wildlife crimes and 124 for violations of State wildlife laws. The items, seized back in August, last year included tiger, leopard, jaguar and zebra pelts, elephant and walrus ivory, whale teeth, turtle shells and boots, live birds. All worth more than $60,000.
