Bangladesh: Law enforcers in Bagerhat arrested a poacher and seized skin of a deer during a drive in Kadamtola area under Sharankhola upazila on Friday night.

The arrestee has been identified as Saddam Ali (20), son of Razzak Mir of Sonatola village of the upazila.

Md Abdul Jalil, Officer-in-Charge of Sharankhola Police Station, said, “Tipped off, a team of police intercepted a motorbike and held Saddam and recovered the skin from his possession.”

“During primary interrogation, Saddam confessed that he was taking the skin to Kadamtola village to sell it to a poacher named Anwar Hossian,” the OC added.

A case has been lodged with the police station accusing the two poachers.

Police are trying to arrest another poacher.
