Nepal: Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested two persons involved in illegal trade of common leopard hide from Nuwakot district on 5th November, 2014, Wednesday. Police have confiscated one leopard hide from the culprits. They are identified as Dinesh Shrestha, 22, resident of Ralukadevi-6, Nuwakot and Kumar Tamang, 25, resident of Sarangthali-4, Rasuwa district. The derivative, (Length-5ft 9 inch, width 1ft 8 inch) was hidden in a house at Narjamandap where the arrestees were planning to sell it. In the meantime the deployed police team invaded there. Police said that they have been involved in the illegal trade of wildlife from the long time and sent them to District Forest Office, Nuwakot for further investigation. A team member of police became injured during the raid. The National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act, 1973 and the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) 1975, have prohibited the trade of wildlife and endangered species.
