India: Six poachers, suspected to be trying to sneak into Kaziranga National Park to kill rhinos, were arrested along with arms and ammunition by police at Jhakhalabanda in Nagaon district of central Assam last night.

Police said a team of Jhakhalabanda Police, led by officer in-charge Deben Bora, made the arrests.

The poachers have been identified as Ibrahaim Ali, Abdul Sattar, Akhtar Ali, Abdul Haque, Rakot Ali and Ainul Ali.

One 303 rifle and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from them.

Four vehicles being used by the poachers were seized from them.
