India: The forest department arrested three men, who attempted to poach deer at Bhavanisagar near Sathyamangalam, and seized from them a single barrel gun.
The arrested were identified as Balasubramaniam, Narayanaswamy and Vijaykumar, all hailing from Vellalapalayam.

On Sunday, the men had gone to Beerkadavu area in the forest with weapons to hunt deer.

When anti-poaching watchers of forest department came to know about this, range officer Venkatachalam, along with other officials, launched a search for the trio. During a vehicle check, they caught them travelling in a van.

The officials found head lights, bullets, sickle, an unlicensed gun and other weapons hidden in the van.

The men were arrested and a case was registered against them. The forest officials also seized the omni van.
