Three held, tiger pelt seized

India: The RMC Yard police have seized a tiger pelt from three persons who were arrested on Monday near Yeshwantpur bus stand while they were waiting for a prospective buyer.

The accused — Balakrishna, 28; Mahesh, 23; and Rangaraj, 36 — hail from Talawada village in Tamil Nadu, and are poachers, said the police.

They allegedly confessed to having trapped and killed a tiger at Sathyamangalam forests three months ago.

“They later brought the pelt to the city to sell it,” said a police officer
