India: Acting on a tip-off, a checking was conducted at Chuktola Bazar area planned by Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Satyajit Nath and executed by SI Mukut Ch Deka along with SSB party of 22 Battalion, Bhakat Para.
In the checking three hardcore poachers, namely Abdul Hasem and Nurul Hoque, both of Putikati under Samuguri Police Station in Nagoan district, and Mazibur Rahman of Bowangoan of Lanka Police Station in Hojai district were intercepted and one .303 rifle folded in two parts, one magazine, one silencer and 10 rounds of .303 live ammunitions were recovered from their possession. In this regard, one case vide Dhula PS case no 401/17 u/s 25 (i) (a) of Arms Act has been registered. Interrogation reveals that they were planning to kill a rhino in Orang National Park.
