India: Police in a joint operation with forest officials arrested two persons and seized tiger bones from Kolaguripathar at the Bihaliarea in Sonitpur district, some 250 km from here, on Thursday.
The two were identified as Jiten Namo Das and Pramod Hazarika. Police said, "The seized items include a tiger skull and several bones weighing around 10 kg.
The duo, involved in smuggling activities earlier as well, kept the bones at a residence in the area and were planning to sell them to another carrier." Sources added that the two was caught before they could hand over the consignment to a different carrier.
