Two arrested in City with Red Panda hide

KATHMANDU: A Central Investigation Bureau team today arrested two persons with two pieces of Red Panda hide at Balaju‚ after a brief scuffle that left some CIB staff injured.
The CIB nabbed Man Bahadur Tamang‚ 26‚ of Yarsa VDC‚ Rasuwa‚ and Bijaya Lama Tamang of Urleni VDC‚ Nuwakot‚ while they were strolling around Ganga Cinema Hall‚ looking for prospective clients.
The CIB has sent the two traffickers to the Metropolitan Police Circle‚ Kathmandu‚ for attacking police. They will be sent to the Kathmandu District Forest Office for legal action against smuggling and sale of Red Panda hide.
CITES Convention-1975 and the National Parks and Wild Life Conservation Act 2029 have listed the wild animal as an endangered species.
