Nepal: Regional Investigation Team (RIT) deployed by Far-Western Regional Police Office, Doti has recovered leopard skins and bones from Jhalari Peepaladi municipality of Kanchanpur.
The RIT led by Sub-Inspector Keshav Joshi arrested 34-year-old Padam Thagunna with 15 kg of leopard bones and three pieces of leopard skin from Jhalari Peepaladi municipality-7 on Monday morning.
Organizing a press meet on Monday afternoon, the police made the arrested and leopard parts public.
In the press meet, Bista claimed that he was not involved in the illegal trade of the endangered wild animal's parts while another arrested Thagunna accused Bista of luring him for transporting the seized parts of leopard to Pipal Chautara.
According to SP Adhikari, the arrested and seized animal parts have been handed over to district forest office, Kanchanpur.
