India: The Koka Wildlife Sanctuary officials on Wednesday morning caught two persons with wild boar meat while cooking.
The accused have been identified as Ravi Wanve and Ganesh Wanve from Dhiwarwada village which is on the fringes of Koka, a part of the Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR).
Acting on a tip off, range forest officer (RFO) Sachin Jadhav and other staff raided the house of the accused. Both admitted that 2.5kg meat of wild boar was handed over to them by Jeevan Thakre of Dhiwarwada in exchange of liquor.
Overall very bad laws and when it comes to poaching it is more worst , please people stop poaching of wild animals from ant to elephant please do not kill animalssarkaar
“Thakre is a habitual offender and is involved in poaching wild animals for bush meat. The kingpin has trained dogs who chase herbivores to kill them. Thakre also uses wire snares to trap the animals. On learning upon the forest action, Thakre has gone absconding,” said RFO Jadhav.
Both the accused will be produced before the judicial magistrate first class (JMFC), Bhandara, on Thursday.
