Vehicle knocks down leopard
Chitwan-Nepal: A leopard was killed when a vehicle hit the jungle beast on the highway at Barandabhar forest area of Chitwan National Park. A leopard was found dead on the Tikauli road section of eastern Chitwan this morning, said police.
It is speculated that the vehicle might have hit the beast weighing 55-kg while it was crossing the road.
The Armed Forest Security Police Training Centre Tikauli took control the dead Cheetah. The forest animals here cross the road that penetrates the dense green forest on both the sides in search for food. As a result, wild beasts are found dead colliding with vehicles on the road here.
Earlier too, four musk deer were found killed in collision with vehicles.
The disappearing forest beasts are losing their lives untimely as there is no concerned agency in place to provide treatment and rescue such animals lying unattended after accidents on the road sides, said conservationists. RSS
