SAWEN organized the first ever global virtual meeting of WENs entitled “Cooperation and Collaboration Expansion among Wildlife Enforcement Networks (WENs)” on 30 July 2024. The webinar was focused on wildlife crime status, countering initiatives, future actions, lessons learnt, and cooperation opportunities for enhanced cooperation among WENs. The webinar also reflected on the outcomes of the Fourth Global WEN Meeting and the initiatives of the International Consortium on Combating Wildlife Crime (ICCWC) in combating wildlife crime. Representatives from various networks and organizations, including EU WEN Belgium, INTERPOL, the Rhino and Elephant Security Group, and the U.S. Embassy in Nepal, actively participated and shared insights during the session. The event emphasized the importance of strengthened collaboration among WENs to address evolving wildlife crime challenges more effectively.
